So, which band is better for measuring Your resting heart rate?
While taking the below measurements I was working on my laptop, thus it was not exact resting hr. I presented the results of the measuring my average heart rate by each of bands in the table below. The raw data is also available on screenshots. I did not include them in the tab because each minute each devise made different number of measurements. I concluded that the average hr for each minute made by Mi Band 1s can be compared to the average hr measured by Mi Band 2.
|Mi Band 1s||Mi Band 2|
|05.10.2016, 17:05||80 bpm||70 bpm|
|05.10.2016, 17:06||89,5 bpm||79,5 bpm|
|05.10.2016, 17:07||57 bpm||78 bpm|
|05.10.2016, 17:08||62 bpm||66 bpm|
It is hard to conclude from the received data which band tends to show higher or lower heart rate. It only can be told that it stays in the resting heart rate range for my age and sex.
Mi Band 1s
Mi Band 2
And how do You think:

I think it would have been better if you had compared the exact same time frames. Even though your rest heart rate should always be in a set range, your heart rate obviously is not the same all the time 😉 So to see if there are differences between the two devices, you should wear both of them at the same time and measure the same activity. To see wich one is better, you would have to use medical grade HR measurement equipment for comparison.
Nonetheless, all in all i would say that both of the MiBands are good to see in which heart rate range you are while doing a workout and that they are not worse than any of the devices in the range of 50-100€ (or even more).
thanks for the feedback!
I wore Mi Band 1s and Mi Band 2 at the same time and during the same activity. However, as I used iPhone and Android for seeing measurements, they did not show the same number of measurements each minute. Therefore, it was not possible to compare measurements each 10 or 30 seconds.
I hope that apart from that the results are quite representative.
